Visit to the Ministry Centre in Rehoboth

Old Mutual & Church Group with Children in MCP
As you all know, finances remains to be a challenge in ministry.  What a great joy it was to hear that a Cell group of a church in Windhoek arranged for a donation of school clothes for the children in our Ministry Care Point in Rehoboth.  On Saturday, 22nd of January 2011 we drove down to Rehoboth.  The group planned a braai and then present the children with a school uniform and a school bag.  This is very thoughtful, they do more than just provide in their needs, but they also meet the children in person.

Well, actually this is a group of people, close friends of a man named Malcolm, who died in a motor-vehicle accident.  He was a friend of the Ark in Rehoboth.  Annually during the December holiday, he and his friends organized a day out to the dam in Rehoboth and additionally bought clothes for all the children  in the Ark.  This was a very special time for the children.  This man also donate meat on a regular basis to the Ark.  The children knew him personally and had great love and respect for him.  The gesture by this group was not only in memory of their friend, but also inspired by his generosity and passion to help those in need.

We were truly blessed by them.

In the afternoon we met with the caregivers of the children on our program to discuss what the program entails.  It was good to meet them in person and clear up some misconceptions regarding our assistance.

Our time spent in Rehoboth motivated us to continue serving the children God entrusts to us.  We need local volunteers to assist us with the implementation of the program this year.  Please pray with us and trust God for workers and of course the much needed financial resources.
